original connector looked like miniXLR to me, very standard.
Besides that, it looks really good in there, good work!

Oh, I should have specified: photo #2 is the microphone from photo #1 half torn apart.
This is what the OEM assembly had, a four-pin connector only two of which are actually wired:

This little silver bit is the actual electret microphone head. The rest of the black plastic assembly contained foam padding.

There were three plastic "ribs" in the rear-cap of the OEM assembly. These may have to be ground off to fit the new electret mic.

CJ, thank you for finding this. I've been looking for something like this for over a year, because I put my microphone out of sight but also its not in a good place for speaking through it. I'll be doing this for sure!

I would assume so as that is a picture I lifted off the net and mine is exactly the same
